<p>The LEED Green Building Rating System (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) has become a de facto global standard for sustainable buildings. Emphasizing environmental responsibility, wellness, and energy efficiency, this certification system applies to all of the main aspects of green buildings: design, construction, and operation. </p>
<p>At Superior Coating Solutions, we fully embrace this standard. Our products are can provide our customers LEED credits across four of the five environmental categories, plus Innovation in Design, due to our use of Cradle-to-Cradle materials. The table below shows the primary benefits of our products, how they relate to the various LEED Credit Categories, and the actual LEED Points that can be achieved through their usage. Customers who utilize Superior Coating Solutions’ products gain significant contributions to their LEED rating totals, enhancing the likelihood of attaining Gold or even Platinum certification.</p>

Choosing the right eco-friendly insulation coating can provide years of carefree protection and avoids many problems associated with traditional insulation.  For example, when Fiberglass is exposed to as little as 1.5% humidity, it can lose up to 35% of its effectiveness. When it becomes compressed or is not tightly sealed around uneven areas, it is even less effective. Fiberglass can also pose health hazards over time as it becomes brittle and its fragments are become airborne.</p>

In some cases where the integrity of the metal has been compromised, our coatings can actually bond to, and strengthen, rusted or corroded surfaces and prevent further degradation for many years. In addition to protecting metal surfaces, both Rust Grip® and Moist Metal Grip can be applied to concrete, masonry, or wood.</p>

Proper encapsulation is a safe and highly cost effective solution for handling the abatement of toxic materials.</p>

After application to a surface, Rust Grip® hardens to 6,800 psi within 21 days. (Concrete is 3,500 psi by comparison)  It effectively blocks any contact with air, moisture, or chemicals, and has also been tested as a water barrier under ASTM.</li>
